 I collect found mirrors and images. I scratch into the silver to reveal the image fragments through the mirror.  

 

Decorative Items And The Lost Memory of Images    

“Isla” accepts the lost memories of images, and is focused on our relationship with objects, their history, and the affective field. The object’s function contained within the concept of ownership, as property and belongings contain their own subconscious as capital. The work is inspired by the different ways objects can be acquired and possessed.  Objects can be purchased, inherited, found, stolen, returned, kept, and What meaning do we give to the objects in our lives? Our personal history is intertwined with the objects surrounding us. Mirrors, images, paintings, pictures – these are all imbued with a personal history that is affected by the stories behind the images.
